Helpful Facebook Term to Ponder About

On your blog, define the following page post insights terms:
Reach
Engaged Users
Talking About This
Virality
Because
insights are not available before you have 30 likes, many of you with
brand new pages won't be able to access this tool from your own page.
Just use the internet to research these Facebook specific terms. (Make
sure you are searching for these terms as they relate to Facebook
Insights)

After defining the terms, describe how can a business can use Facebook Insights to better serve their customers.

Insights
This area is important to monitor. It will tell you which of your posts are performing well, and which ones are not, aiding in changes to your future content strategy. The image below shows a page and the content most engaged with. We can see that posts about local events garner very little interaction or interest. However product centric posts are getting more response from fans.

acebook has what are known as “page post insights.” It is a group of statistics that provide information to a page administrator about what is happening with the usage of that page. The following terms are used in the “Page Post Metrics” page on Facebook’s help center. (There are others besides these four.)

Reach is literally the number of people you have "reached" or those that have seen your post. Figures are generated for the first 28 days after a post is created.
Engaged Users is the number of people who have become immersed in your post and either have clicked anywhere on your post or made a comment.

Talking About This is the number of people who have either shared, likedor commented on your post.

Virality is literally going "viral" and how far and fast your post is crossing the internet from one user to another.

Many businesses can use Facebook as a handy tool to reach out to more people faster. Once they have enough likes and customers they can view the insights which can help tailor a call to action, spending plan,or just see whats working and whats not.

  1. Did you try to create an Ad on Facebook? You can create an Ad without having 30 likes. You create it preview it, take a screenshot or use clipping tool(Windows 7) to post picture on your blog.

  2. Amber,

Thanks for sharing these terms! I don't think I have 30 Likes on my page yet so I have not been able to see the insights dashboard for my page. I've worked for a few small businesses and many of them were not taking advantage of the Facebook Insights dashboard. They were really missing out because it would save them time and money by giving them data driven insights to help them formulate more effective marketing strategies.
